R-Type war und ist die absolute Referenz unter den Shootern und seinerzeit sowohl grafisch als auch spielerisch eine Revolution.
Nintendo Land
R-Type DX is a perfect example of a great arcade side scroller. A must have for old fashioned arcade fans. But great for any other action fan. I must say, this game is very frustrating! The game is just made to drive you crazy. I thought I was going to explode from anger on one level. Usually, once you beat that level, you calm down a bit. So be very happy to beat some levels, this game is hard!!
While the overall package isn't as refined and full of cool bonuses as other "DX"-branded titles - Super Mario Brothers in particular - the core gameplay makes R-Type worthwhile. It's still one of the best shooters you can get for any machine, and the GBC version does the series proud. Excellent.
R-Type DX is a solid port of a classic shooter. If you're looking for a gaming experience similar to the ones you've experienced with 8-bit and 16-bit shooters, then look no further. R-Type DX, with is plethora of modes, and game variations will satisfy even the most discriminating gamers. Being a shooter maniac since the days of the good old NES, R-Type DX is one of the best Game Boy Color games I've ever played, and it lives up to the shooter tradition. Your Game Boy collection would not be complete with out it!
Irem should be fairly proud; it's pretty much all here, so if you're looking for a shooter to take with you, R-Type DX should be near the top of your list on the strength of the DX mission alone. As long as you aren't fooled into believing you're getting a ton of gaming here, you shouldn't be disappointed. And if you're an R-Type collector looking to make an addition, this cart should be inexpensive enough now - and should prove that it claims enough ownership to its own miniscule personality - to warrant a purchase.

R-Type DX ziet er prima uit en voldoet zonder meer aan de eisen van de shoot'em up liefhebber. Een tekortkoming is echter dat je nergens kan saven.
Super Play
Äntligen ett gediget shoot 'em up till Game Boy. Är det inte Irems klassiska spel R-Type? Gud vad kul! Inte det minsta kan vi tyvärr meddela.
Player One
Dommage !
