Summary

Pure platform gaming heaven!

The Good

This is an exact conversion of the greatest game in history and much more! Some things have been modified a little bit but so that it doesn't ruin it. You can also change view so that it saves the level design which is still brilliant after 20 years. Not noted in the manual but possible now is playing Luigi in single player by pressing select in the map (new!). Besides the original there is the new challenge mode in which you need to get all red coins, the Yoshi egg and the high score to break. This will take weeks even for the most die-hard gamers. Then there's the VS mode which makes two players race trough new VS-levels as either Mario or Luigi. Unlockable is the Boo-mode which is a 1-player version of the VS mode against the ghost Boo. For masters there's the Lost Levels to unlock. This Japanese sequel to SMB is insanely hard to make it even longer. Then there's lots of extras such as banners and pictures printable with the GB printer. All these extras make an otherwise also brilliant game even better. There is no reason not to buy this only if you dislike platform games. Otherwise this is worth your money like no other GBC game. Probably the best GBC game available.

The Bad

Not much not to like about this game except there doesn't seem to be multiplayer in the original.

The Bottom Line

A brilliant game for SMB experts as well as newbies. Buy it!!!
