Batman: Return of the Joker

THere a ROM flloating around out there for a Super Nintendo version that appears to be a complete game. Does anyone know if this was released in Japan or something or was it just canceled when almost done?

... I just realized, this doesn't appear to be a commercial release. I tried searching on eBay and found nothing. What in the hell...

I'm pretty sure this has been submitted to the database a few times. All information I've been able to find indicates it was never released.

Sometimes the emulation community gets it's hands on prototype or unfinished games. In some (uncommon, but still possible) cases, there are games in that are otherwise finished and playable but which never got beyond the publisher's storage room. Some examples include: Socks the Cat (SNES), Star Trek V (NES), Earthbound (NES) and The California Raisins (NES).

Earthbound -was- released, though. In Japan, but still. :p

Well I was hoping for the "Mother = released", "Earthbound = not released" distinction there... but yeah, you're right.
