Another Contra game that won't let you down. Lots and lots of fun for gamers on the go. Put the game on "Maniac" mode and go for it. Just run, jump and shoot...shoot like the dickens. Shoot robots and monsters, blow up buildings and watch out for stuff like hot lava on the ground. Unfortunately, you don't have the option of choosing a character, so you can't play as a girl or a robot the way you can in Contra: Hard Corps on the Genesis.

Contra for the Game Boy is a real delight! Action/adventure games don't get much hotter. If you're looking to dust off your Game Boy, Contra is the reason!

Whoa, look out! I never expected that a Game Boy could match the Super NES version so closely. All the enemies, levels and special effects, like the scaling jet in the first level are faithfully reproduced. The attention to detail is great and the bosses are just as challenging here as they are in 16-bit. Game Boy owners, you're in for a treat with this one. Konami pulled out all the stops to create a winner.

Super Game Boy compatibility adds a small splash of color and passwords after each level keep you from repeating charted territory again and again, but shooter fans won't find much here to test their skill. The game's brevity and simplicity might make it a nice introduction to the shoot-em-up genre for younger, less experienced gamers, though.
