The close-up top-down viewpoint doesn't reveal much of the field at one time but the smooth scaling keeps up with the fast-paced action. The tough computer-controlled opponents make this one of the better soccer carts for the Game Boy!

Nothing about Elite Soccer for Game Boy 'wows' you, but considering the surprisingly few portable soccer titles available, Elite fills the void adequately with a simple, yet fun, soccer simulation.

Too bad Elite Soccer doesn't come close to living up to its name. The above-average controls and practice mode can't compensate for graphics and sound that fall far short of elite.
