As mentioned in the game itself, and also suggested by his name, the hero Firebrand is fiery red in color. Since the game is black and white only and the cover artist obviously hasn't played any G'n'G game before, Firebrand is depicted as a green gargoyle on the game's cover, though.

Anyone know Firebrand is a bad guy in another Capcom series? That's right! He's the little red gargoyle in Ghosts 'n' Goblins! Firebrand also shows up again in its sequel, Ghouls 'n' Ghosts!
