The primary graphics consist only of the ramps and loops over a solid background. Across the bottom of the screen is the time, number of nitro turbo boosts, and speed bar. Power-ups are easily identifiable since that are in the form of a letter. Sound consists of some music and effects for when you use a nitro or when you wipe out. Motocross Maniacs features easy gameplay and is a great portable game.

Motocross Maniacs is a very good game that has plenty of addictive qualities. With dual scrolling that takes your racers flying off ramps and spiralling through loops high in the air, Motocross Maniacs is a very fun game to play. Lots of options and multiple skill levels help you tailor the game as well!

"So ein einfaches Spiel", mag man anfangs denken, aber wer sich das erste Mal auf eine Runde mit Motocross Maniacs einläßt, ist schnell und dauerhaft gefesselt. Die Steuerung des Flitzers ist leicht erlernbar und macht zusammen mit dem perfekten Streckendesign die Güte des Moduls aus. Auch die Langzeitmotivation sollte durch immer wieder neue, hinterlistig zusammengetüftelte Pisten nicht von Pappe sein. Die Grafik ist wenig spektakulär und überzeugt allenfalls durch schlichte Übersichtlichkeit, ist aber im Rahmen des Spiels völlig ausreichend. Bemerkenswert ist die packende Musik, mit der Konami mal wieder beweist, was in dem Soundchip des Game Boy alles drinsteckt.
