Adventure Lantern
Considering the bargain price of this title, I would put it into the “Must Have” category. Whether you buy it new or used, you’ll get your money’s worth – assuming you like the kind of game I’ve just described.

If you happen to like the basic premise of tactical RPGs but aren't so keen on shifting through complicated math formulas to learn how much damage a certain attack will cause, don't like having to plot out movements in advance because you can't properly calculate movement costs, or simply dislike gridded environments, Crave Entertainment might have the perfect solution for you. Developer ZedTwo's Future Tactics: The Uprising blends tactical planning with action elements -- revolutionizing the way you view strategy games. With the right ideas in place -- turn based action -- is ZedTwo able to back Uprising with solid gameplay? Read on.

Lately there has been a lot of Turn Based Strategy RPG’s coming out on the market, many of them have a brilliant game design, story, and plot, and on the opposite side of the spectrum there are others that just plain shouldn’t have come to the market. Recently Crave Entertainment released their “Tactics” game unto the gaming world, entitled: Future Tactics: The Uprising, this game teeters on both sides of the spectrum, it is not bad but it is not great either. Read on to find out why!

Edge
As an example of unabashed, often exuberant Britsoft that rebuilds the SRPG with approachable ease, it's remarkable, deserving cult status. Yet falls short of mass market appeal

Future Tactics started out on a good note with me at first because it reminded of two games that I enjoy: Worms and Final Fantasy Tactics. It was also refreshing to see a game trying new things, mixing turn-based strategy with platforming elements and massively destructible environments. Unfortunately, things went sour quickly when it became clear that none of these innovative features came together well, resulting in a smoking wreck of ideas that should have been fun.

The enemy AI is terrible, as is the fact that losing one unit can end the game. Other than the price, Future Tactics has nothing to offer.
