Description
Giftpia is a role-playing game without weapons, armour, battles or elements considered typical of the genre. The citizens on Nanaji Island have the custom of organizing a ceremony to celebrate children's transition into adulthood. You assume the role of the young Pockle, who has slept through his own ceremony. Missing the ceremony is considered a crime and he is thrown into prison. They also blur out his face so that nobody recognizes him. Pockle needs to travel and raise money for a new ceremony, otherwise he is doomed to stay a child.
The gameplay consists of various puzzles and colourful minigames involving the oddball islanders. Although there is no fighting, you can still move freely in an open world and choose what quests and jobs to pursue. There are various skills and you are threatened by ghosts that haunt you when stay up late. Additional RPG elements are introduced by a regular need for food and a day and night cycle. During the game, Pockle will mature and new gameplay elements open up.
