Kao the Kangaroo Round 2

Kao the Kangaroo 2 ist ein nettes Jump&Run für zwischendurch, das gerade auf dem GameCube seine Freunde finden dürfte. Die Grafik ist liebevoll, das Gameplay einfach aber unterhaltsam. Größte Kritikpunkte am Spiel sind, dass es insgesamt wenig frische Ideen gibt und dass der GameCube kaum ausgereizt wird. Jump&Run-Fans sollte das aber nicht weiter stören, denn Kao the Kangaroo 2 mixt die bekannten Elemente zu einem gut spielbaren Cocktail. Der Preis macht den Titel zudem zu einem Schnäppchen.

Kao is that cute little kangaroo from the Dreamcast. There wasn’t anything really unique about the game, but it was a fun and entertaining platformer just the same. Now Kao has made his debut across the board on the console market, in Kao Round 2.

Particulièrement destiné au jeune public, Kao 2 parviendra de fort belle manière à distraire même les grands enfants grâce à son design cartoon et à sa facilité de prise en main. Quoique largement inférieur aux grands noms de la plate-forme comme Rayman 3, Sly 2, Jak 3 ou encore Rachet & Clank 3, notre kangourou arrive tout de même à nous amuser et c'est bien là le principal. Un petit jeu sympathique sans plus.

Kao the Kangaroo Round 2 takes a ton of classic gameplay methods, mixes them into its own design and attempts to deliver an entertaining package at a budget price. Though it serves up a huge variety of platforming gameplay, the budget feel of the overall product won't end with just the price tag, as Kao the Kangaroo Round 2 lacks the refined control and polish of better attempts in its class.
