NHL Hitz 20-03

Hitz has an assortment of extras but once you have finished the franchise and season mode it starts to get tiresome. There is also a new version coming out next season, so we also look forward to the new one!

Midway's sports formula is simple: deliver tight, easy to pick up games that are good to play alone, but great to play with your buddies, and you'll have a hit on your hands. This formula worked wonders with NBA Jam/Showtime and NFL Blitz, which were born in the arcade, and made successful transitions to home consoles. Building on this success, Midway expanded its sports lineup to include Redcard Soccer and MLB Slugfest baseball. Last year, they also included hockey in their line-up, in the form of NHL Hitz 20-02. The game surprised us with addictive gameplay, tight control and great graphics.

Overall, NFL Blitz 2003 is a really fun game, and lets you get away from ordinary everyday things in life, so you don't get in trouble or kicked off the Varsity team for body slamming your quarterback after sacking him because you're in a bad mood or something. With new sports titles coming out all the time, there's no possible way to keep up with all of them by buying every single one, so I'd recommend this as either a rental, or if you can find it under 30 bucks, then that would be an awesome purchase, cause' if you're like me, you'll never get bored with this game. Also when you have friends, the multi-player is a beast to handle, so have fun.
