• The Yamanouchi Clan is a reference to former Nintendo Co., Ltd. President Hiroshi Yamauchi.


• The "Way of Heavenly Duty," or Ninten-do, is obviously a reference to Nintendo, the publisher of this title.

Odama was created by Yoot Saito, the man behind the infamous Seaman for the SEGA Dreamcast, which allowed you to raise fish with human-like faces and conduct conversations with them.
