It's a lawn out there!Players assume the roles of RJ the raccoon, Verne the turtle, Hammy the squirrel and Stella the skunk in this sneak-o-rama set in a deceptively quiet suburban neighborhood.Features- Based on the DreamWorks animated feature

Special moves include RJ’s "golf ball barrage," Verne’s "spinning shell attack," Hammy’s super-fast "Hammy time" and Stella’s "stink."Most of the action entails wreaking havoc through backyards and kitchens while evading two-legged foes, notably exciteable Gladys and comb-overed exterminator Dwayne. Over the Hedge raises the bar for destructible environments in a game starring cute furballs, as RJ and co. make mayhem on birdhouses, lawn chairs and fountains too numerous to count. And while they're animals they're not automatically animal lovers. Our crew brings the beatdown to whatever vermin dare cross their path.Despite multiple difficulty levels, all that mashing gets repititive, but a two-player co-op mode livens things up considerably.In the manner of Activision's Shrek games, Over the Hedge leans heavily on quirky charm mined straight from the original movie. So RJ and Verne talk moderate smack while teeing off on rats with golf clubs. Over on the sound track, a whole lotta crescendo-ing horns cue you that you're in the midst of a none-too-serious caper.Over the Hedge boasts a ton of unlockables, including audio tracks, character wireframes and concept art. RJ and his pals power up on junk food, which, judging from the wildlife's reaction to leftover Cheetos at typical city park, is pretty accurate.
