Activision resurrects classic Atari platform hero Harry for more action and puzzle-solving antics on the PS2
After a brief revival in the late 90s, when the eponymous hero returned for a stint on PS one in Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle, it seemed Activision's precarious platformer had put his action-adventuring ways behind him for good. But after an extended vacation, Harry's back to take on old and new enemies alike in his latest Indiana Jones-esque outing, The Lost Expedition.
Heading to South America for his latest adventure, Harry will be jumping, crawling and vine-swinging his way through familiar territory, with huge, lush jungle environments, snowy mountain ranges and Aztec ruins to negotiate. You'll be setting out as the plucky explorer armed with a knapsack full of handy items for avoiding obstacles, such as an ice axe for traversing glacial cliffs, and weapons, including a powerful slingshot, for seeing off any potential pests. As well as avoiding the hungry jaws of waiting crocs, you'll also be called on to solve all manner of puzzles to help Harry complete his quest. Collect items to unlock minigames and gain new abilities, including nifty combat manoeuvres.
- Explore stunning 3D worlds and choose from multiple paths on your journey
- Wield a diverse range of weaponry and gizmos, with everything from a slingshot to an axe
- Gain new abilities, including combat manoeuvres

"The all-new adventure also introduces an element of strategy to the gameplay by allowing players to have 'direct control' of Harry's actions by using the analog stick to move his limbs. In Pitfall: The Lost Expedition, gamers embark on an adventure to rescue a lost expedition, stop a vengeful high priest, prevent an archrival from stealing treasures and help a princess fulfill her destiny. Players swing, fight, climb and crawl through more than 50 challenging levels set in unique environments from ancient ruins to treacherous mountain ranges where they must overcome obstacles, brave the elements and battle a host of enemies from scorpions, bats, and piranhas, to insects, natives, mercenaries, bush ninjas and monkeys.

With Total Havok's physics technology, objects like swaying vines and floating icebergs react to their environments in a highly detailed and realistic manner.
