The door to dread swings wide open.

    Something rotted this way comes.

You survived the Nemesis in Resident Evil 3. That's a good thing. Don't catch your breath just yet, though. Capcom is serving up another ample helping of mutated flesh in Code Veronica X -- the next installment in the Resident Evil series on Nintendo GameCube. Playing as Claire Redfield from Resident Evil 2, your goal is to seek out clues about Veronica's missing brother, Chris. Something tells us that you're going to turn up a lot more than just fingerprints.

    Features

    • Seek out and use cool weapons to take out terrifying lifeforms bent on ripping you to pieces.
    • Play the first half of the game as Claire, then control her brother Chris later in the game.
    • An intelligent Real World System remembers which doors have been opened and puzzles have been solved by Claire, so that everything is in its proper place when you play through the second half of the game as Chris.
    • An improved map system automatically color-codes doors and marks item boxes and typewriters on the map.

    Bottom Line

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X gives fans of the series the thrills and chills they crave. There are plenty of puzzles to solve, lots of bio-hazard baddies to avoid, and the new gameplay improvements are the icing on the coffin.
