If you love Resident Evil and, for some reason, have no other access to Code: Veronica, then here's a perfectly functional, if somewhat overpriced, version of it. Considering nothing has been added or upgraded in this extremely plain conversion, the game's $40 price tag is quite hard to justify. Yeah, Code: Veronica was pretty amazing at the beginning of 2000, but times have changed and this game hasn't. It's a good enough port, which is to say that it's no worse than the Dreamcast version, but after all this time, that really isn't enough to warrant a purchase.

There’s no question that RE: Code Veronica is a dated title. The third release of the game is just a port and only for people who have never played it. All others need not apply.

This isn't to say it's painful to play through CVX on GameCube, I was pleased to revisit the game. However, especially after playing the REmake and RE0, CVX's faults are all the more apparent. Some may wonder why, if it's the same game as the PS2, why it isn't getting the same score. The experience just isn't the same -- it's not as powerful. Due the technological barrier, this isn't the game that blew me away on the Dreamcast -- just a shadow.
