A complete 3D re-construction of Universal Studios, where you can spend a day at the park and ride the many rides and see the attractions that are part of the real life studios.

To take part in each ride, you must find and complete a range of tasks, with cartoon great Woody Woodpecker helping you out. Once you complete a task, one of the many rides become available to ride for free. As you go along, you will also come across many characters and other situations to get involved in, and you can complete a trivia quiz with questions based on the history of Universal.

Universal Studios could have been a little more better.

The Good
Well, when make world famous rides from world famous parks into games, you get a good and bad game. Based into mini games, this kinda slows the process. The park featured is the one in Osaka, Japan, with the park layout mostly different from the ones in Hollywood (my favorite!) and Orlando. So on the cool side, the player gets to play in the Japanese park that the average American doesn't even know exists! Good idea Kemco! The gameplay for some of the mini games is good, giving a little challenge. The music they provide is perfect, giving a sense of determination, suspense, action, and thrills. I think Backdraft, Waterworld, and Back to the Future were great!

The Bad
But a problem is that all though this a 3D adventure, it doesn't give off much in one perspective. When navigating thru the park, the surroundings are 3D but you the camera angles are all just stuck in one place, so its kinda hard to turn around to places or search for letters. After passing across the screen, the process begins again and again. You just get sick of it. If you could move as freely as Lara Croft or Mario, that would make the experience alot more better. Then you would really be able to explore Universal Studios! Gameplay for a couple games was tricky and boring. I think Jaws and the Wild Wild Wild West sucked the hardest. The cheesy recreation of the Climax for Waterworld bit the big one. My suggestion would be to keep the choice of viewing at different angles and put real live action footage of the show! That would be more pleasing and cooler, to help bring back memories...ah.

The Bottom Line
What you get is a game based on a tourists' day at the park. There will be happy memories and stupid memories that your tourist will take on in Universal Studios. Theme park enthusiasts or fans of the movies portrayed will like this. Mostly good but there are its flaws.
