Gauntlet Dark Legacy is the all-new iteration in the 3D "hack'n'slash" time-honoured arcade classic Gauntlet franchise. The revolutionary Gauntlet game design allows players to work as a team as they venture through eight dangerous worlds. One to four players can select one of eight different characters. Using force of arms and exotic magical powers, players vanquish creatures, search for treasure, evade traps, and embark on quests.

www.nintendo.com.au – GameCube:
Ever since the arcade version of Gauntlet first appeared in the mid-80's, the hack 'n' slash adventure game has put an emphasis on four-player fun. Dark Legacy is no different, offering eight impressive worlds for players to cooperatively conquer together.

Working alone or with your pals, you have to hack, shoot and conjure your way through dungeons, caves, towns and other environments.

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy tosses more than 50 different types of enemies at you, in staggering supply. Most enemies can be chopped down with a single strike, but larger enemies will require you to take advantage of the game's impressive offering of combo attacks, power-ups and magical attacks.

Choose from eight different types of characters: Warriors, Valkyries, Archers, Wizards, Jesters, Sorceresses, Dwarves and Knights. As you progress through the game, you can unlock over two dozen secret characters, whose strengths and weaknesses are based on the original eight.

By blazing through hordes of creepy enemies, you can use the treasure you've collected to purchase various items which will help your quest.

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy stands up as one of the most fun four-player games available. It's possible to play through the game alone, but you'll really be missing out if you don't work together with some mates.

eight impressive worlds for players to cooperatively conquer together.

If you've never played a Gauntlet game before, it won't take you long to get into the swing of things. Up to four players are tossed into hostile environments teeming with enemies.

Monstrous bosses provide epic battles worthy of the game announcer's melodramatic tone (YELLOW WARRIOR HAS GAINED A LEVEL!!!!!!!!!!).

When you begin the game, you can choose from eight different types of characters: Warriors, Valkyries, Archers, Wizards, Jesters, Sorceresses, Dwarves and Knights. Each adventurer has unique strengths and weaknesses. As you progress through the game, you can unlock over two dozen secret characters, whose strengths and weaknesses are based on the original eight.

By blazing through hordes of creepy enemies, you can level-up your character. This is a great aspect of Dark Legacy, because it really gives players a sense of satisfaction. At the conclusion of each level, you can use the treasure you've collected to purchase various items which will help your quest.

It's possible to play through some of the levels without finding all of the secrets, which encourages replay value. It takes a lot of exploration to find all of the secret switches and Rune Stones. This doesn't add an overwhelming amount of cerebral stimulation to the game, but it's enough to provide a nice break from the constant fighting.

Despite less-than-spectacular graphics and occasional slow-down, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy manages to stand up as one of the most fun four-player games available. It's possible to play through the game alone, but you'll really be missing out if you don't work together with some pals.

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is available now. Game progress is saved to a Nintendo GameCube Memory Card 59.

www.nintendo.com - Game Boy Advance:
The term "dungeon hack 'n' slash" has become synonymous with Atari's Gauntlet series. Midway has taken that arcade/adventure hybrid and infused it with tons of new features in Gauntlet: Dark Legacy for your Game Boy Advance.

    Your Quest

You must embark on a quest to recover the mythic 13 rune stones and battle the evil wizard Garm. Choose your hero from a stable of classic character types: the mighty warrior, the wise wizard, the nimble archer or the fierce Valkyrie. Each character comes with unique strengths and weaknesses.

Featuring action-packed isometric combat, Dark Legacy requires players to travel through 27 dangerous levels filled with treacherous traps, monsters and demons. Enemies spawn from strategically placed monster generators and will continue to do so until said generators are destroyed.

    Power-ups

Along with your trusty default throwing weapon, your hero or heroine can pick up nine potent power-ups. Abilities such as invulnerability and speed boosts come in handy against the gigantic bosses you'll face.

With plenty of new levels, characters and combat tactics, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy provides hours of entertainment for action-hungry Game Boy Advance owners.
