BattleTech: A Game of Armored Combat

This is a great war game. It takes equal parts strategy skill and luck to get through the tough levels. Choose your weapons wisely because - like plumbing - you need the right tool for the job. You may be tired of Jungle Strike games, but I thought this one was a lot more fun. I'm going to go out and buy this game.

One of the few drawbacks is the short feel of the levels, more objectives would be welcome. Most gamers, however, will find some of that "just one more time" challenge, and Battletech requires enough strategy to make it more than a mere firefest.

What else is there to say? If you like Mech Warrior and Mechassault, wanton destruction, big mechs, great gameplay, or any combination of the above; you need to check out BattleTech. It's got a steep learning curve for the first hour or so, but it's nothing that will frustrate any but the most short-tempered gamers. Now if you'll excuse me, I think there's some infantry begging to be squashed.

Hey, now this is a pretty cool. Even though the game seems like it's meant for hardcore Battletech players, anyone could just get right into the action, but only if you've got two players. The game is really tough with one player. The attention to detail is immaculate and the challenge and fun factor don't wear off, even after many hours! Battletech will prove to be a sleeper hit among action and simulation fans!

Battletech is still a fun game for shooter fans, but it could have been much more. A wider variety of objectives and more obstacles to hide behind or use for cover (the worlds are too open) could have put this game in the "must-have" category for Genesis owners.
