I remember when farting in a game was strictly prohibited...not only does BM fart, he grunts 'em out! FART! If that's not enough, he flicks boogs! You'd think, with that as a selling point, they wouldn't bother to make a great game, but Interplay has made a 24-meg gnarler. Great voice, superior animation...I like it!

If you're looking for a fun platform game with some unique gameplay, try this one on for size. And don't tell me I'm not an expert on boogers. Not only have I picked my own nose, but I've picked other people's noses as well.

In a game that's guaranteed to unnerve the faint at hear, Interplay has created a gross platform game and character that we pick to win by a nose.

Tof spel!

Once you reach the later levels, Boogerman becomes a fairly easy cart - I can beat it with no passwords while using a few lives only. I'm still compelled to play it time and time again, using particular passwords to replay my favorite levels. Boogerman is not the easiest game to find, but be sure to pick it up (no pun intended) if you spot a copy. The techniques are so well put together that even platform gamers with little patience for Boogerman 's peculiar kind of low-brow humor will enjoy its challenges. This underrated cart is one of the most playable platform games around.

Still, those who feel they can tolerate the action will no doubt enjoy this game. Children will especially find this game hysterical--just make sure they don't try to emulate Boogerman's "skills." Now that would be truly disgusting!

Oh, the times they are a changing! Never have I imagined a video game that would employ the use of farts, belches and boogers as a form of attack. I'll give it points for originality and humor value. The animations will crack you up and gross you out. I'm not even sure if that's such a good idea. Anyway, the game as a whole is okay, but it just lacked something. It seemed like just another action game.

Boogerman was a fine idea for a mid-'90s video game superhero, as in that era you needed to do whatever you could to get your game to stand out from the crowd -- the platforming genre was incredibly popular, and it was definitely difficult to distance your product from your competitors'. But his gross-out theme just isn't strong enough to stay interesting beyond that first few minutes, as the novelty of seeing a hero be so nasty wears out quickly when you realize the gameplay is just as standard as any other cookie-cutter platformer from that same 16-bit age. Boogerman isn't a bad game, and if you're finding yourself captivated by the concept for whatever reason, it's not the worst way to spend 800 Wii Points. But I'd recommend you save that eight bucks for a better adventure -- maybe Interplay's own Earthworm Jim, or Earthworm Jim 2, which is also coming soon to the Virtual Console.

Did I 'dig' Boogerman? Well, it's an average side-scroller starring a disgusting character. The game's level/boss, level/boss formula is a bit tired and repetitive. Like boogers - seen one, seen 'em all.

Boogerman is actually a respectable platform action game, but let's face it -- with a name like Boogerman, who's going to take it seriously? Controls include a jump button, a mucus button, and a gas button. I think you can see where this is going. The whole gimmick behind Boogerman is the ability to make the goofy-looking hero burp, fart, flick boogers, and hock loogies. You can even fly using your ass as a jetpack! Please kids, don't try this at home! I have to admit Boogerman is very well animated and his moves will crack you up. The game itself is your standard platform action fare, with enemies and backgrounds that are much less interesting than the main character. This game has some novelty value, but not a whole lot more.
