While this follow-up title features more gameplay, the game's length includes quite a bit of repetition. Despite the fact that the three floors of each exhibit are laid out differently and become increasingly harder, you grow weary of facing the same enemies and environments time and time again.

Bubsy's had a face lift and he has new worlds and toys, but there's not enough white-knuckle action here to satisfy veteran gamers.

Bubsy II starts you off with some pleasant surprises, but once you get past the novelty of the game's extra features, it falls into repetition and mediocrity. This isn't to say that it's a bad game - you can still definitely get some fun out of it, especially if you choose to take one floor at a time. It does become boring after a while, though, and there are much better platformers on the Genesis you could spend your time on instead.

All Game Guide
Level design is not only sparse but also confusing, with haphazardly placed objects that seem plucked from a child's dreams. The action, however, is closer to a nightmare. Play mechanics involve slowly gliding down floors to locate an exit before time expires, and the inclusion of a Nerf gun to dispatch animal adversaries makes things too easy.
