Un jeu décevant au premier abord mais qui s'avère, à la longue, captivant et de plus en plus beau.

Bloodlines, with its faults, is still one of the best games the Genesis has to offer. Interesting level design, different monster creations (lots of robots and mechanical creations), a darker and more sinister feel, and the same gameplay we have loved for years makes this one a no-brainer. It would simply be a sin not to have this game in your collection.

A little rough, but still a great first outing for the series on the Genesis. You'll be eager to beat it a third or even a fourth time. Falls a little short of the SNES version, though.

Bloodlines, as the name suggests, is one of the bloodier installments to the series, and its reflective pools and massive bosses look gorgeous. While it's void of the RPG elements that made Castlevania titles in the Igarashi era so amazing (Symphony of the Night, Circle of the Moon, etc.), this is still a great part of the legacy.

Castlevania was an insanely popular line of side-scrollers for the NES and SNES. After what seemed like an eternity, it finally arrived on the Genesis in the form of Castlevania Bloodlines. The game plays much like Super Nintendo's Castlevania IV, where you battle creatures of the night armed with a whip and other weapons. So how does this compare to its SNES counterpart? It's not quite as good, but still worth playing. The graphics aren't as detailed or colorful as the SNES version, but they still rate better than average on the Genesis. I found the controls to be a bit tricky when navigating the stairs, but other than that, this is pure platform heaven. I love the bosses, especially the wolf who shatters the windows with his howl.

Konami was due for another Castlevania title and comes up yet another winner with Bloodlines. This cart has all the great graphics and sounds that Konami is known for. The option of choosing between two characters is cool, plus their special abilities and attacks are also great. The huge bosses have some of the coolest attacks and special effects. This game is a must-have for Genesis owners.

La mia impressione è che ci sia una sorta di speculazione, dettata forse dal fatto che Vampire Killer sia uno dei Castlevania più rari, se non il più raro in assoluto…

Digital Press - Classic Video Games
While it may not be the hardest or longest game in the series, it's a worthwhile addition. Everything is done superbly and the gore right from the start is pleasing to the eye. Genesis owners have been treated fairly and have a game to be proud of.

Bloodlines is a satisfactory action cart, but it belongs in the lower reaches of the Castlevania lineage. One wonders how Konami could make games so perfect in heart, body and soul as Castlevanias I through IV and then drive a stake through the Genesis version. The Bloodlines run dry.
