The game gets harder with each level, so gamers expecting an easy go of it because of the Disney tie-in should think again. It's easier to sneak into Disneyland than it is to finish this game. But all in all, Gargoyles gives you the kind of rewarding gameplay and gorgeous scenery associated with award-winning games like Vectorman and EWJ 2. Gargoyles rock!

Wow, where did Disney obtain this power? Although the big "D' has more than enough money and power to create good games. I'm still surprised at how well they did their first time out. Not only does Gargoyles feature great music, artwork and animation (a no-brainer, considering their history) the game also plays very well, has play mechanics galore and the levels are very well layed out. Gargoyles seems as though it came from a company with a long history of games, yet it's Disney's first...amazing!

This game is easily one of the biggest surprises of 1995! From out of nowhere, Disney has made one of the best Genesis games of the year. The graphics are simply amazing and gameplay elements, like busting through weak walls, smashing through glass and climbing on walls, makes Gargoyles a real treat to play.

I had high expectations going into this game, and for the most part, I walked away satisfied. When all is said and done, Gargoyles can be great fun, if not a bit lacking. The game is yet another fine license-based game for the Genesis, with solid action-platforming gameplay. It is unable to reach "classic" status due to some combat frustrations and short play time, yet it's great for a couple hours of fun. If you can find the game cheap – not a difficult task – you should absolutely add the game to your Genesis collection.

Gargoyles fighting action is mediocre. The throw move often doesn't register, leaving you vulnerable to counter attacks. Despite the artistic beauty of its graphics, the game's sparse soundtrack is less memorable. With the exception of some pounding drums, it sounds hokey at times. The sound effects however ring out with a clarity and crispness that you normally don't associate with the Genesis. It's no classic, but Gargoyles is rock-solid platformer with showcase graphics to boot.

I was expecting the worst from Gargoyles, being that it is another game with a big license for a title. But I was actually surprised at how much the game had to offer. There are numerous ways you can attack and the levels are laid out to where you must actually used you abilities, such as scaling the sides of a wall or double jumping to reach a higher platform. The graphics aren't the best I've seen and the control needs a little tweaking. Other than that, it's a decent game.
