IMG International Tour Tennis

EA Sports has gone all out to make it's first tennis simulation one of the best on the market. Instead of licensing a single star to headline the cart, IMG International Tennis Tour features 32 real players, from legends such as Bjorn Borg and Ivan Lendi to rising stars like Tommy Haas.

While IMG features realistic animations, a timing problem with the control often leaves you swinging at thin air. Once you press a swing button, your player begins his backswing; this requires you to compensate for the backswing time or be entirely too late when the ball arrives. Playing from the top of the screen, which you do for roughly half of the match, is also difficult since the different perspective changes the timing.

IMG International Tennis Tour has too many control problems to be the best Genesis tennis game. Still it offers challenging game play and enough realistic details to make it worth trying for a few sets.

IMG International Tennis is basically realistic tennis. It is boring to watch and because of the poor gameplay it is boring to play. The computer is not a sufficient challenge even with the poor gameplay. Having four players can at least be fun.

Det är främst två saker som är mycket irriterande. För det första har spelarna en tendens att slå på fel sida, det vill säga de slår en backhand när de borde göra en forehand och tvärt om. För det andra har datorspelarna inget som helst bollsinne. Ray Charles spelar bättre tennis. Ställer man Niklas Kulti på en tennisplan så står han inte och glor medan bollen fladdrar förbi honom. Näe, EA Sports bör hålla sig borta från tennisplanen.
