All Game Guide
This is certainly a game that no fan of the movie and/or book should do without. It's the type of game that -- even though it is the product of movie merchandising -- is fabulous on its own. A rare find indeed.

But the Genesis version (Sega), which lets you assume the role of a raptor, is a blast.

Just Games Retro
The Jurassic Park craze has undeniably wound down by now, so this will just be another platform game to modern audiences. Still, the elements that made the movie great do carry over into the game - the sense of adventure, the fear of trying to bypass giant, deadly lizards - and it even manages to create some its own with the just-plain-fun Raptor levels. Not a bad choice if you want a platform adventure, with love of dinosaurs not required.

In the huge sea of JP paraphernalia, this one stands out if for no other reason than it lets you rip into Dr. Grant as the raptor. Hey - sometimes, it's enough.

In any case, while you won't play this game for more than a week or two, it's still a solid, fun diversion. Little tykes will love this game just for the dinos, but the rest of us can still manage to eke out a few hours of good fun.

High Score

The Video Game Critic
Although the environments appear slightly grainy, they are very detailed and interesting to explore. It's also fun to shoot and toss grenades at dinosaurs, and the tension is palpable as you duck into a vent to avoid oncoming raptors. The game also includes some stages not in the movie, like an innovative rafting level where you navigate a dinosaur-infested river. Although it can be frustrating to play as Dr. Grant, assuming the role of the raptor is much easier. It's also a good way to take out your aggression as you maul helpless security guards and gobble up smaller dinosaurs. Jurassic Park certainly has its share of technical issues, but still manages to be a fair video game adaptation of the film.
