You have to give it to these developers; they really put their time and energy into making this a unique experience, even if they lose some of the buying audience in the process. All the little tweaks and details in the game, from the graffiti in the bathrooms, to the diseased burger at Burger World make this simply an awesome game, and a must have if you're looking for a fun and challenging game to spend an hour on, which is what it'll take, since there's no saving! All in all, a great game, if a little bit for the older crowd, if not for content but sheer difficulty.

This cart's cranium-cracking puzzles and gross humor may be unsuitable for some kids, but so is the Beavis and Butthead show. Although the guys play a good game, you'll still want your MTV.

Adding to the frustration is that if one of the characters dies, you'll lose any ticket pieces or items you've already found. Thank goodness there's a password feature! It is this imbalance of play that really hurts the game in the end, because deep down there is a fun adventure that does a great job in capturing the humor of the show. If the developers focused on this adventure aspect or slowed down the speed of the enemy characters, then this title would've came highly recommended. It's a good game that should have been better.

Well, the Genesis version - which includes the usual pull my finger jokes and other flatulent humor (that are absent in the SNES version) - captures the feeling of the television show better. But the SNES version looks better and holds together better as a game. Still, I like the Genesis' faithfulness in the gritty, cartoon realism - if such things exists - but if I was going to be locked up in a room with one or the other, I'd pick the SNES.

As for novelty, I cant really say that Beavis and Butt-head shines, but it's so much like actually playing episodes of the cartoon without having to sit through the Grim Reaper music videos. Even down to using the remote control to select your levels. I remember having a blast playing it with my friends and getting pissed off because I could NEVER catch anything while couch fishing, but in the end...I got to see Gwar, and all was well. Gwar in a videogame would have made me buy Army Men 3D, but for this game, it was just the icing on the cake. I'm a sucker for 2D platformers, a fan of the TV show and a slave for Gwar...what could have been bad?

For many people, the deciding factor of liking this game or not will probably be if you like the duo and their TV show. If you don't then this game will definitely not be for you. It does have good graphics and the sound is okay. Not being a fan of the show made this more an endurance test. Fans will probably want to check it out, others beware.

Okay, I can say that the characters are well drawn. I wish I can say as much for the rest. Control is horrible. I found it difficult to fight and make selections - very frustrating and not smooth at all. The sound was only slightly better. The introductory music sounds like an out of tune keyboard. The programmers should have had more of their one liners sampled into the game. If you are a hardcore fan of these two, then go get it. Otherwise, don’t rent it and definitely don’t buy it.

Unfortunately, the gameplay falls flat. The object is to collect objects that help Beavis and Butt-head locate their lost Gwar concert tickets, but everywhere they go they are constantly bombarded with cheap hits. There are also a number of instant deaths that bring the game to an abrupt conclusion. Although our heroes are "armed" with fart and burp attacks, the collision detection is atrocious. It's like the game won't let you enjoy it. That's a shame, because otherwise it does an uncanny job of capturing the spirit of the show.
