In the early 90's, EA had the market on golf cornered. This third installment of PGA Tour really outdoes itself. This one features no less than EIGHT courses and a 54-player roster. The graphics have been upgraded slightly, and some digitized pro swings have been incorporated. The control system is slightly modified, but you still get the same simple horizontal swing meter that made the previous games famous. There's a wealth of statistics and a battery backup that even lets you save instant replays. No question about it, this one's a winner.

I have always enjoyed the PGA Series and PGA Tour Golf 3 is no exception. In the current world of 16-bit sports video games, where one-ups-man-ship is the name of the game, PGA 3 now stands alone as the best Genesis golf game. PGA Tour 3 brings out the subtleties of the real game like no other and is a "must-have" for all sports fans this Christmas. With improved graphics and outstanding gameplay, PGA Tour Golf 3 will keep golf fans off the links and in their living room this winter and beyond.

Golf pros wont' hesitate to reach for their wallet and buy this fun, vastly improved cart. Casual fans who already own PGA II, however, should rent the new one before buying - going from the great PGA II to the stellar PGA III may not be worth the bucks to occasional hackers.

EA's venerable PGA series goes through yet another upgrade but this time comes away a winner. The most dramatic improvement is in the game's graphics; everything from the golfers to the shrubs has been completely redone with digitized art for a very realistic look. Give the limitations of the Genesis color palette, it's remarkable how real the courses look. The game now features eight different TPC courses, three new tournaments and a new digitized Ball Lie window where you can control loft and spin. The new standard for Genesis golf!

The improvements aren't excessive, but serious golfers are gonna want to invest in PGA Tour III if only for the new courses. Call your local clubhouse, cancel your tee time and pick up this game instead. The trophies await!
