The guildmaster of the Thieves Guild (supposed to have one of the Rings of Power) is called Keef. That is an obvious reference to Keef the Thief, a game also done by Naughty Dog on the Amiga.

The loonies in the game would actually quote the lyrics from Paranoid by Black Sabbath if you insisted in talking with them: 'Make a joke and I will sigh, and you will laugh and I will cry. Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal'. That and some other funny bits the programmers put in like: 'Oh right, I should redo combat for the fifth time. I need a haircut!'

The game had a built-in cheat that would show a topless woman (instead of a clothed one) during the Naughty Dog intro.
That actually caused the game to be removed from some shops' shelves, because there were no warnings on the game box about nudity.

The music that plays during the intro and title screen borrows a small passage from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana; from the piece Fortune plango vulnera to be more precise.
