It rarely gets bloodier than this and that's one reason why this sequel will be so popular. Splatterhouse 3 has a high gross out factor and lots of not-so-clean fun. Just like any good horror movie, there are enough thrills and chill here to keep you riveted to your seat. This game is good to the last splat!

All Game Guide
Things that make Splatterhouse 3 stand out from your average beat-'em-ups are the multiple endings you can receive depending on how long you take as well as the non-linear format of rooms affording secrets and alternate routes. Fans of B-Movies splatter-fests such as the Evil Dead trilogy or Friday the 13th franchise can't go wrong by at least giving this title a play, while people who enjoyed the previous two installments will be quite pleased.

Splatterhouse 3 is easily the best in the trilogy. The enhanced features in the gameplay and more demonic story makes the game a lot more fun to play. If you like violent games then don’t miss out on Splatterhouse 3, as it’s the cream of the crop when it comes to 16-bit beat em ups and is easily more fun than Final Fight or Streets of Rage. However if you aren’t a fan of distressing deaths and piles and piles of fun and gory fights then Splatterhouse isn’t for you. However, if you’re man enough to play through this gore-fest and conquer the immense difficulty then it should be in your collection. Too bad about the shotgun though, eh?

Digital Press - Classic Video Games
It's a rare feat that a trilogy of games can keep up such a high level of quality. Keeping on this track, we can only hope to see more of Rick and the gang in future. While the change in genre may disappoint a few gamers out there, most will see that it really didn't change the game all that much and be able to swallow it readily. With multiple endings, lots o' gooey stuff, decent story (with a great twist at the end), tons of new additions, and solid gameplay, you can't go wrong with Splatterhouse 3.

It gets repetitive, but at least you can hit several monsters with one punch when they're close together, and power-ups let you become temporarily bigger and stronger. Graphically, the rooms are unique and interesting, and the characters are huge. There are several routes through the house, and plenty of traps and other surprises. The cheesy story line is developed through the use of digitized images which look pretty neat, and a password is provided at the end of each game. Splatterhouse 3 isn't too deep, but it's a good way to take out your aggression.
