Stargate

Stargate will definitely not disappoint adventure fans or players who are looking for an exciting platform piece with purpose. With it's long lasting playing power, Stargate would keep you occupied for a voyage across a million light years.

The programmers at Probe work their magic once again. The graphics are well shaded and the rotoscoped characters animate very smoothly. What's even better is that then quest is long and it really draws you in to the story. The music is great, but it gets a little repetitive at times. I found Stargate to be a polished well-rounded game. Excellent.

Like most sci-fi fans, I really liked the movie, but I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with Stargate. The play control left a lot to be desired on top of the poor graphics and sound. It's a tough game too.

Stargate is a challenge and can suck you in. But I really feel that you have to be totally into the movie to think this game is great. It follows the plot rather accurately and buffs might just want to check it out. So, unless you really loved the hell outta this move and feel that you have to relive it daily on your video game screen, leave this one at the store and hope the Stargate closes itself.

The movie was really good but the game, like most translations, just isn't that exciting. Your main character is small and kind of clumsy to control. On the plus side, the sounds are decent as well as the story's innervation. It could have used a bigger main character with a few more strong initial weapons though. The animations are done rather well, however, it just isn't fun crawling through caves and fighting the beetles. This may be for diehard fans only.
