The Genesis version of Tecmo Super Bowl II is equal to it's SNES counterpart in every way. The graphics and sound show tremendous improvement over previous Tecmo product and, as always, Tecmo has provided the player with a well presented, detailed NFL simulation that has been written specifically for the toughest football critic and fan.
All Game Guide
This is a game that tries to become a more "grown up" looking game of football, but ends up in football limbo instead. Not sophisticated enough for sim addicts and too many cosmetic changes for the Tecmo faithful.
So is it worth hunting down this rare Genesis sports title? Probably not. While it's a solid football game that won't disappoint, it offers very little that the easier-to-find successor doesn't. The only things you'll find in Special Edition that you won't in Final Edition is in game music and different cut scenes.
