Summary
My first review as the silver one...
The Good
There's nothing quite special about this game, considering it's a rather bland buttom masher, but it's really kind of fun to play with friends and such. I remember liking it, but Soul Calibur 2 is the definative button mashing jampack extravagenza.
Your loooong time foe with a cliched name shredder is back and stuff. As Leo, Mike, Don, or Raph, ya gotta hack and slash your your way through enemies of varying length. Now, I've probably gotten a crack addiction to all things Sonic, so I want more speed in a game. That's not to say a slow game based purely on combat should be bad... oh crap, it is...
The Bad
It's not revolutionary. It's not a huge blast. It can be beaten in an hour or so. The storyline sucks.
I remember being a huge fan of the utterly cheezy ass animated series for some sad reason. I still almost like it in a way. I dunno. Not really. But being a TMNT fanboy in my earlier days certainly wasn't anything to be ashamed of. The subtle mental connection between game and TV show totally clicked back then. Now, probably because I utterly despise that new, pathetic TMNT revival on Fox, that connection has been shattered and swept up. As we speak, I have virtually no loyalty to it at all.
But I don't eaisily dump things. I have always been the biggest Sonic idiot you could ever have met. I have spent a considerable portion of my life playing the original Genesis games. However, my insane fanhood went on haitus for a while. I never bought a dreamcast, so I didn't get to play the Sonic Adventure games. I sold my Gamecube for now, so I can't get the remakes. But when I heard Sonic Heroes for Xbox... WHAM! Full freaking speed ahead! I've since broken out my collection of Sonic plush toys and such.
But that never happened here. Now I just look back on TMNT as a broken illusion. I can't explain exactly what happened. I love Mario, but wish his damnation at Sonic's hand today. I also loved TMNT, but I guess I just... died...
The Bottom Line
As silver as the blowing snow is my soul
This game is... crap...
(Bursts out in laughter)
End of review.
