ToeJam & Earl have the kind of charisma that makes them a natural for a sequel and Panic on Funkotron's a perfect opportunity for da boyz to show off their stuff. Get ready to jam!

The visuals are fantastic, with cartoon-quality animation. Each level has a completely different look, and there are even some hidden mini-games. My favorite is the one that allows you to "jam" with funky friends by copying beat sequences they play. This is not only great fun, but it was also the precursor to later music games like Parappa the Rapper (Playstation) and Space Channel 5 (Dreamcast). The high-quality music is similar to the first game, but the sound effects are much improved. The two-player mode has been retained, although it's not as good since you must remain on the same screen as your partner. A password feature allows you to save your spot. Don't miss out on this underrated game.

The game features 17 levels of platforming action across various sections of the planet. You'll also be able to talk with various alien inhabitants to test your rapping skills and earn presents. Passwords will let you continue your funky journey whenever you feel the urge to get down. Have a friend? Two players can play both aliens at once!

If you like quirky games with original concepts, by all means, take ToeJam and Earl 2 for a spin. While it doesn't have the endless appeal of the original, it's a fun little game in its own right, and the music is top-shelf. Just make sure you have good speakers, and a friend to play with you.

I would like to dedicate my closing to the wonderful people at ToeJam and Earl Productions, Inc. for bringing us such an amazing game. In the words of Lewanda, "Get down with your bad self!"

They're back and in a entirely new adventure. Fans of the original Toe Jam & Earl will probably not be able to live without this game and rightly so - there is more to explore this time around. The second time is a charm.
