World Series Baseball

If you're looking for a hot baseball game that's fairly easy to play, World Series Baseball is your best bet. It delivers impressive graphics, outstanding sounds, real names and tons of options. Get plenty of batting practice and then start swingin' for them fences.

All the real players and logos are here, which - unlike the sport itself - is incredibly fast. The hits, throws and runners all bring an excitement to the game that's often missing from the actual sport.

Well, not much else can be said about a baseball game. Especially a baseball game as simple as this. But remember, back then this game WAS marveled for its innovation, and the graphics were phenomenal for the time. World Series Baseball should be REAL easy to find, and for cheap, it being a sports game and all. If it weren't so easy to hit home runs, and if there were trading, I'd probably go ahead and give this a 9, but I'm going to stick with a good 8, and leave it at that.

World Series Baseball is one of the better baseball games out there with great control, excellent voices and plenty of teams to choose from! With two players, it is even better! The scoreboard has excellent cinemas.

Unless you're a purist who thrives on the finer points of the game, World Series can be downright tedious. Throws tend to be inordinately high arcing, turning the most routine grounders into close plays at first base. The height of the baseball is represented by a huge shadow, which looks pretty cheesy. I still recall my friend Bobby commenting, "Look at the size of that shadow", causing me to second-guess my $60 investment. Fortunately, the game excels in its attention to detail. The SportsTalk announcer is back and he has a lot more to say. The scoreboard displays humorous animated cartoons in addition to the box score. Other neat little touches include fielders who toss the ball towards the mound after the third out. You can even hear vendors shouting "get 'yer hot dogs" in the stands. World Series Baseball certainly covered its bases in terms of getting the details right, but it took a step back in terms of gameplay.
