Zool challenges all comers, from beginners to hard-core hack-n-slashers. If you're looking for a cart with thumb-numbing action to whip you into a gaming frenzy, Zool takes you to school.

Is Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension a Sonic killer? Certainly not. The level design lacks polish at some places, and the unforgiving difficult, even on its easiest setting, can turn the game into an exercise in anger management. If you hone your skills though and do not mind a fast-paced challenge, you are in for a treat. The graphics are colorful and smooth, the sound is pretty catchy, and the overall gameplay is actually pretty fun. Just do yourself a favor and try to play the game in its original PAL setting: The lack of proper optimization of the NTSC version manages to cross the thin line between tough but pleasant gameplay and torturous experience.
Player One
Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM)
Zool sports great graphics, but your character moves much too fast and with little control. This game is basically identical to Socket, so fans of that game way want to check this out.
Defunct Games
There are a few interesting ideas sprinkled throughout Zool, but this ninja comes up short in almost every way possible. What we're left with is a frustrating action game with a character I didn't care about. The themed levels are interesting, but it would have been nice to have some sort of narrative tie all this together. With only average platforming and levels that overstay their welcome, I find it hard to recommend Zool: Ninja of the "Nth" Dimension.
