User review spotlight: Carmageddon (DOS). Released in 1997.
The game's title screen and instructions
The second game screen contains the shareware request for cash as well as the game configuration options. They are not much, just which side do you want to play and how many players
A partially painted screen. The game paints the screen one cell at a time, working from left to right in vertical rows. When the screen is complete it places the units in the appropriate cells
A full battlefield view is available but movements are not possible in this mode. The current battlefield sector is outlined in pink
After each round the player(s) get a chance to save the game. The current score is in the top left corner
This screenshot shows the combat sequence. It's nothing spectacular. Of the two adjacent units, the grey is attempting to occupy the cell of the blue unit.
