Description official description

Hexxagon is a board game based on Ataxx, except with a hexagon grid instead of a square grid. It takes place on a board made up of hexes, 58 in total, and each player starts with three pawns. You can move a pawn two hexes in any direction, or clone a pawn onto an adjacent hex. Every opponent's pawn adjacent to the pawn you just placed becomes yours. The winner is the player who has the most pawns once the board is filled up, or the player who eliminates all of the opponent's pawns, in which case the game fills the board with their pawns automatically.

A pretty cool game!

The Good
Mat's absolutely right, this game is VERY addictive... and rightly so! It has a very simple and easy-to-use interface, reasonable graphics and sound, and most importantly - great gameplay!

The Bad
No background music and very stupid AI (I rarely lose to it, maybe 1 in 20 games).

The Bottom Line
A good challenge and a great waste of time.

Highly Addictive

The Good
This game is downright fun! I've played it countless times and it never gets old. The graphics are beautifully done and very professional looking, adding to the game experience. The whole game is very well put together, leaving you with a feeling that your playing a quality game.

The Bad
The AI soon becomes easy to beat, even at the hardest levels of difficulty. Nothing beats the unpredictability of a human player.

The Bottom Line
This game is highly addictive! It is one of my favorite puzzle games. If you don't have it, get it! Once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down.

A very unique boardgame...lots of fun

The Good
This is a game I still pull out now and then. Hexxagon is an intriguing boardgame that borrows elements from othello. The board is a configurable hex grid, and the two players start with a small number of pieces on the board; the objective is to end the game by either having more pieces on the board when the game ends or eliminating your opponent completely. The game mechanics are quite simple, and the gameplay elegant. This is a game that rewards intense strategic thought. The computer AI is generally quite good, and keeps singleplayer games challenging and fun for hours. But the real fun is taking on a friend in hotseat play. The built-in board editor is fun to fiddle with, if you want to experiment with different starting scenarios.

The Bad
The graphics aren't spectacular, but in this kind of game it doesn't really matter.

The Bottom Line
A computerized boardgame with an elegant cut-and-thrust.
