Ни в коем случае не проходите мимо Hidden & Dangerous. Игра, конечно, чертовски сложна, иногда непривычна, но от этого не менее привлекательна. А концовка, в которой русские помянуты не последним словом, заставляет вновь испытывать гордость за нашу великую страну. H&D — настоящая находка для всех, кто любит пощекотать себе нервы и ненавидит жалкие проценты здоровья, так свойственные mainstream-shooter’ам. Даешь реализм!

Hidden & Dangerous is een van de beste 3D shooters die ik het afgelopen half jaar gezien heb. Als je zomaar een beetje rondloopt en gaat knallen zul je niet ver komen want je moet over behoorlijk wat strategisch inzicht bezitten om dit spel uit te spelen. Ik vermoed dat de belevenissen in dit spel zeer dicht in de buurt komen van wat de SAS commandos in werkelijkheid meemaakten.

Putting the problems aside, H&D is definitely a winner, and with its diverse missions and its intense storyline it will be hard done by if it doesn't reach top 10 status. Add this to your shopping list now, and remember if you do buy it, be sure to grab the patch, it makes a world of difference to the release version.

Set in the Second World War, the players task is to guide a hand picked team of specialist soldiers through a number of missions, before eventually achieving your main goal. I say eventually, because another trait Hidden and Dangerous has inherited from the accomplished Commandos is the level of difficulty. Coupled with this is the lack of a training option which results in the player being thrown into intense combat straight from the off. For a game this tough, it would usually be a necessity, but these thoughts are soon dispelled as you settle into one the most atmospheric and enjoyable experiences your PC can offer.

Het spel is uitgebreid en moeilijk genoeg om vele uren spelplezier te garanderen. Ben je echter een perfectionist die huivert bij de gedachte dat er ook maar één pixel verkeerd zou staan op zijn scherm, dan kan je beter passen, want Hidden & Dangerous is op dit gebied verre van een perfect product.

Hidden and Dangerous is a hell of a game, although some of the missions, in addition to being hard, are frustrating due to various bugs that just end up infuriating the gamer. I also noticed that, for the most part, the early missions tend to be a little bit harder than the later missions and that might turn you off. I'd suggest finding the cheat codes or grabbing the save game from our website so you can skip around to missions like I did (yes I played most of the missions and no I didn't beat more than half of them). H&D easily deserves a higher score, without those bugs, this game would have definitely made our Gamer's Choice list. Patched, this game could be one of the best games of 1999, but until then, play at your own risk!

I like this game for its WWII premise, detailed environments and challenging gameplay but its numerous problems (bugs, clipping, etc.) end up casting a pretty large shadow over things. It's really a shame since down deep, there is a great game hiding under all of this.

Die schlechte Nachricht zuerst: Einsteiger und Gelegenheitsspieler werden an Hidden & Dangerous wahrscheinlich keine Freude haben. Abgesehen davon, daß der Schwierigkeitsgrad in sämtlichen Kampagnen ausgesprochen hoch angesetzt ist und die Missionen sehr komplex gestaltet sind, schafft es vor allen Dingen die unnötig komplizierte Steuerung, den Spieler gehörig zu verschrecken. Hat man sich mit diesen Mankos aber erst einmal arrangiert, offenbart sich ein ungeheuer herausforderndes Taktik/Action-Gemisch, das mit komplexen und originellen Missionen sowie einer stimmigen Atmospähre vor allem Strategie-Experten begeistern dürfte.

Die ersten paar Einsätze von Hidden & Dangerous haben mich schlichtweg begeistert. Als leckere Mischung bekannter Filmklassiker wie »Das dreckige Dutzend« und »Agenten sterben einsam« trieben sie mich mit Hochspannung von Mission zu Mission. Die passende Musikuntermalung und die hübsche Grafik trugen das ihre dazu bei. Leider sind eine Handvoll der späteren Missionen eher von durchwachsener Qualität. So soll ich beispielsweise ein Boot punktgenau am Steg plazieren, während ich gleichzeitig eine Horde Feinde vom Kaliber Superschütze in Schach halten muß. Außerdem hat mich die schlappe KI in Gebäuden fast in den Wahnsinn getrieben. Solche Macken wiederholen sich immer mal wieder, abgewechselt von wirklich toll zu spielenden Missionen. Wenn Sie die Geduld aufbringen, sich über die wenigen Nerv-Einsätze hinwegzuspielen werden Sie mit einem abwechslungsreichen 3D-Shooter inklusive Strategie belohnt.

Eine Mischung aus Commandos und Rainbow Six? Her damit! Flugs installiert und dann... Es fängt schon mal damit an, daß die eigenen Mannen einem nicht aus dem Weg gehen, es sei denn, man erschießt sie. Generell stellen sich CPU-kontrollierte Gestalten äußerst dämlich an. Dazu ist das ganze Spiel vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her hammerhart geraten - ein Fehler, und Sie können noch mal von vorn anfangen. Davon einmal abgesehen stellen Sie die interessant gestalteten Missionen vor spannende Herausforderungen, hierbei ist der Strategieteil aber eigentlich überflüssig. Der Ruf "Engländer!" verursacht Adrenalinstöße, wie sie bei mir zuletzt Half-Life hervorgerufen hat.

So, in the end, Hidden & Dangerous is a good game with a lot of flaws. Yeah, it's buggy, difficult, and infuriating, but damn if it doesn't keep me coming back for more. I haven't been able to step away from this game for much longer to eat and sleep since I installed Hidden and Dangerous. Even with all of its faults, it's hard not to love this game. It has the potential to be one of the better games of the year, but only if the dev team releases some patches to fix the bugs. As of this writing, the game is extremely unstable and frustratingly buggy, but it's still a lot of fun and incredibly addictive.

While the awesome missions and sound effects give it hope for greatness, the other flaws such as the controls and graphics dash a lot of the potential this game had. World War II buffs and fans of the Rainbow Six series (Rogue Spear included) will definitely enjoy Hidden and Dangerous, however, I can’t imagine a regular gamer enjoying it as much as I do. So, if you enjoyed the Rainbow Six Series and you passed your history class, then you might consider purchasing this one. For everyone else though, take some left over lunch money and go rent Hidden and Dangerous.

Au final, H&D est un jeu somptueusement développé avec tous les atouts théoriques pour en faire un hit. Cependant, il s'agit aussi d'un jeu partiellement débuggé et d'une maniabilité douteuse. Attention, il est jouable dans sa grande majorité mais pas à certains endroits. Avouez que de surveiller en permanence vos hommes de peur qu'ils fassent n'importe quoi, c'est rageant à force. Le mode stratégique, si intéressant, devient presque inutilisable tant on est pas sûrs des SAS et de leurs réactions. C'est vraiment très dommage car j'attendais ce jeu sûrement autant que vous.

Les jeux sur la Deuxième Guerre mondiale pullulent ces derniers temps. Medal Of Honor, Commandos, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Enemy Territory, Battlefield 1942 et d’autres encore… Un peu comme si une barrière psychologique émanant de la disparition, petit à petit, des gens qui connurent personnellement ce conflit, était tombée. Peut-être aussi n’est-ce dû qu’au succès connu par les jeux inspirés par cette période peu glorieuse de l’histoire humaine. Mais trêve de palabres philosophiques. Ne sommes-nous pas là pour jouer ? Parmi ces logiciels, Hidden And Dangerous aurait pu passer inaperçu.

After all my griping, you may think I really hate this game, but actually this is not true. For some reason, despite the flaws, the game is still really fun. Not many titles can survive the amount of bugs and errors found in this game, but Hidden and Dangerous is one. The game still provides some serious heart-pounding action, intense game play, and feeling of authenticity. It could have been a classic game, and a step forward for the squad based first person shooter. At its best it is fun, exciting, and intense. At it's worst it is maddeningly frustrating, extremely difficult, and a trial to play.

"Hidden & Dangerous Deluxe" weiß besonders im Netz zu überzeugen. In kleinen Gruppen zu vier Leuten am Geschehen teilzuhaben macht wesentlich mehr Spaß als sich alleine vorzukämpfen. Hier dürfte auch das größte Manko des Spiels begraben sein, denn wenn man alle Missionen einmal durchgespielt hat gibt es absolut nichts Neues mehr, außer der Befriedigung es geschafft zu haben.

The fact is this game looks good and its missions are big, unique, and complicated, even as the tension continues to mount with each one. Hidden & Dangerous is the only convincing World War II tactical combat simulation out there, and it can be an immensely satisfying experience during those rare times that you successfully coordinate your men to achieve one of the game's multifaceted objectives. Ultimately, if its premise appeals to you, then Hidden & Dangerous is worth all the effort it takes to play. At the same time, you'll feel frustrated that it isn't perfect, since it comes so close in so many different ways.

Vette game op de PC maar de Bugs en matige graphics zorgen ervoor dat de Dreamcast versie tegenvalt.

Faults aside, Hidden & Dangerous fills a gap in the Dreamcast library, as there really weren't any stealth-oriented first person shooters available until now. An extremely good port of an average PC game, Hidden and Dangerous is guaranteed to provide a good many hours of strategic gameplay based in an excellent World War II environment.

Ambiance toujours aussi réussie, le jeu reste un véritable carton virtuel bourré d'originalités de gameplay. Malheureusement, les trop gros défauts d'intelligence artificielle et le manque totale d'originalité par rapport à la version PC tueront le hit en puissance dès les premières minutes.

Hidden and Dangerous is a game with tons of potential, great graphics and sound, and well-designed levels. The gameplay is fun (albeit hard) and you aren't always doing the same thing. Unfortunately, all of this is marred by a buggy game (even after the v1.1 update) and incredibly stupid computer AI (which controls your teammates). This all being the case, Hidden and Dangerous' score is dragged down significantly from what it could be. With some bugfixes, clipping problem fixes, and an AI overhaul, Hidden and Dangerous would be an extremely fun game. As it stands, H&D is extremely frustrating. Unless further updates are made, wait for Rogue Spear, or even dust off your copy of Rainbow Six. We did, and fifteen minutes of gameplay made us want to quit playing H&D altogether.

Hidden & Dangerous attempts to walk the tenuous line between simulation and action shooter, but doesn't feel right doing either. While the difficulty curve ramps up in a hurry, your stuck with the same buggy execution throughout. And with your team out of the mix, there's no one to turn to for help. The World War II setting gives it some mileage, but without any multiplayer features to speak of, I can't imagine many wanting to replay through this fairly lengthy game. Positive moments are few and far between in this lackluster effort. I would suggest interested parties explore all the Rainbow Six material before entering this battle.
