Having fourteen classic card games in one package is a great idea; unfortunately, Hoyle Card Games isn't as good as it could have been. The biggest disappointments were the poor explanation of the rules in some of the games, lack of variety in Poker, all of the small problems in Solitaire, and no Internet play. Although head-to-head play is a nice touch, it would have only really been successful if it had been available for every game. I don't understand why War, arguably the most boring card game in existence, was chosen for head-to-head play instead of a more enjoyable game such as Poker or Go Fish. I believe Hoyle Card Games is perfect for the person who would like an introduction to classic card games and is willing to get other sources for understanding some of them.
