Even though it heavily relies on some famous titles in its genre, Industry Giant 2 is more focused on transports than business; the game is very interesting and features great gameplay and replay value. Initial failures will make you activate your little gray cells, and think more commercially. Believe me, there is great pleasure to be found in the fact that you are capable of making $10 million in four years. The lack of the map generator will surely be made up for in one of the future patches, and the only problem that remains is that once you figure out a way to make easy money, everything becomes overly simple ... but still interesting, nevertheless.

Overall, Industry Giant II is a generally entertaining title, especially for those with an interest in transportation or a good economic based simulation. The title does have it's problems, however JoWood has done a well-rounded job in producing a business title that can be both entertaining and informative, something few have managed to do successfully.

Those who enjoyed the original game will find Industry Giant II just as enjoyable, but in the already crowded business sim genre, this games doesn’t really do anything to separate itself from the other games. And those gamers new to this genre should skip this one and invest it in the slightly more superior Maximum Capacity: Hotel Giant.

If you're really into tycoon games, then you may want to pick this one up. If you're only into them for games like SimCity and Roller Coaster Tycoon, don't pick this game up, your friends will find you dead from drowning in pool of your own saliva. At its core, Industry Giant 2 is a decent management game, but there has to be more for regular folks like me to get into it. There has to be some personality and pizzazz. In fact the one thing I found incredibly funny and entertaining were the giant golden snails that would make their way down the screen when loading up a saved game after just starting up the program. Unfortunately trying to take a screen made the snails go away so I can't prove it. Industry Giant 2 is an average game in the tycoon genre but should be good for those that just can't get the itch to play a game like this out of their systems.

Fans of the original Industry Giant will without a doubt enjoy the sequel. It uses the same design ideas and adds a lot more stuff into the mix. It's a shame that technical issues and a few questionable design decisions mar what is otherwise a fairly detailed business sim.

But games like this are really based on how gratifying it is to set up a business and watch it run and grow, and all the cute little killer whales and hang gliders and fireworks displays can't make up for the fact that Industry Giant II is ultimately a graphical front end for a clumsy and frustrating spreadsheet.
