Description

The Infinity String is a freeware adventure game with a story, design, interface and art reminiscent of such games as The Dig and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

More than a thousand years ago, two races fought each other. One of them, the Delegians, discovered the Strings, small threads of energy that bind every element in the universe. They used it to create a necklace, but were unable to control it and with the enemy drawing near, they decided to establish different research facilities for it far away. However, their planet was destroyed and only 5% of the population remained, scattered around the universe. The player takes on the role of Yerik Elnar, a scientist sent to Antarctica in 2011 to help research ruins discovered by Russian explorers in 2009. This discovery is tied to one of the Delegian exploration crafts and soon strange things start to happen.

The game is quite long and offers many rooms to explore, humans and creatures to talk to, and a large amount of inventory-based puzzles. The game takes place in the ruins, a jungle and different spaceships. The story is told as a flashback, and the game is entirely controlled through the mouse, with the right button to examine and the left button to use or pick up objects. It is possible to die and near the end of the game the story is forked into 2 different paths with their own puzzles and endings.
