AmigaAmiga Power
Terrible presentation, but lots of fun and not a little addictive. There's hours of frenzied joystick waggling here, but even with the game's good points, it's hard to justify the asking price.
AmigaAmiga Power
Terrible presentation, and a highly questionable price. [...] If only it had been a tenner cheaper.
Atari STST Format
The control method is rather novel, but it sometimes causes far too much confusion, especially on the throwing events, to enable you to actually play the game. Hunting around the bargain bins of your local ST software store will no doubt turn up an old sports sim at a low price, in which case you'd be well advised to plump for one of those rather than buying International Championship Athletics.
AmigaAmiga Joker
AmigaComputer and Video Games (CVG)
Well, the athletics season is over for another year, but if you crave for a spot of track and field on computer, why not take a look at International Championship Athletics, with its cornucopia of events including sprints, high and long jumps, javelin and hammer throwing, to name but a few? I'll tell you why. Because it's a pile of old - no. I can't use that word in these pages. This is one BAD piece of software, with some of the most embarrassing graphics ever witnessed. The commentator looks like a hideously deformed Trigger from Only Fools and Horses, the crowd look like undead Kevin Keegan clones and as for everything else? Don't ask. And certainly don't buy.
