DescriptionDownton Abbey: Mysteries of the Manor is a hidden object game based on the Downtown Abbey British-American historical period drama television series. During a village fête the Crawley manor is ransacked by an unknown intruder. The player's character is hired by the Earl of Grantham to return the environment to its original state, but at the same time also unravel the mystery. The different rooms in the house are used as locations to find missing objects. There is a list of words at the bottom and the player needs to identify and tap them in the environment so they are removed from the list. Some objects are hidden out of sight and then a small amount of scrolling is required. Hints are provided through a torch that automatically finds an object, a camera that shows a depiction of the object, and a magnifying glass that gets a different border when it is moved over an object that needs to be found. Quick selections in succession are rewarded as there is a meter near the top of the screen for combos, but it is depleted quickly.
By completing scenes experience and items are earned, used to level up and unlock new rooms. Rooms are selected from a large map, shown from a top-down view. Characters appear on the left side of the screen as portraits where they offer tasks to Carson, the butler, who then passes them on to you. The game is free-to-play with an energy/stamina system and waiting times to keep playing. Shillings are used as a basic currency and diamonds as a premium one. Both can be bought as in-app purchases along with energy refills.
