Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light HD riesce a restituire un'esperienza di gioco convincente anche su iPad, dove è immutato nei contenuti e dispone anche di un'ottima componente multigiocatore con supporto Game Center, perlopiù ad un prezzo molto aggressivo. L'ottima commistione di elementi platform, puzzle e di esplorazione garantisce tanto divertimento e presa costante sul giocatore, senza contare il comparto tecnico sicuramente tra i migliori mai visti sul dispositivo di Apple. Il titolo prodotto da Square Enix si posiziona quindi direttamente tra i videogiochi più validi in assoluto presenti su iPad, per grafica, profondità e divertimento garantito.

The bottom line is that Guardian of Light is plainly ill-suited to touch-screen controls, so if you like what you see, you're far better off playing it on the platforms it was actually designed for.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a great adventure on consoles and PC but it just doesn't translate to the iPad well. It's got a great new look, clever puzzles, and loads of fun stuff to collect, but the onscreen controls are clumsy and the game doesn't run smoothly when playing cooperatively. Instead of trying to shoehorn console games onto the iPad developers should be taking advantage of its particular touch screen possibilities.

The cumbersome controls make the iPad version less essential and given the quality of the game on other formats this can only feel like a missed opportunity.
