The official mobile game of the 2012 London Olympics consists of five sports and nine events:
- Athletics: 100m, 110m Hurdles, Triple Jump and Pole Vault
- Swimming: 100m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly
- Shooting: Double Trap
- Archery: Individual Competition
- Canoe Slalom: Kayak (K1)
The player starts out with creating a character by choosing gender, country, face and hair. The character is rated in six attributes (strength, balance, agility, accuracy, flexibility and mentality) and the player gets to pick one of these as a main stat. These attributes then increase depending on how well the player performs and it's possible to level up. There's also a shop where the player can buy different equipment such as clothes and shoes that increase the stats.
At the start only three events are available (100m, 100m freestyle and double trap) but more can be unlocked by spending stars. Stars can be earned by playing the game or they can be bought with real money. There are three different modes. The player starts out with the training mode and after doing well there he can participate in the Olympic mode where he gets to compete online against four random players. There are three stages of the Olympic mode: regional, national and Olympic level. There is also a challenge mode where the player has to try completing different missions, for example running at a certain time. The game uses a stamina system where each training or competition costs stamina. Stamina recharges automatically but if the player can't wait it's possible to purchase it for money.
Most of the events are controlled with a combination of touch and tilt controls although it is possible to turn off tilt and only use touch controls. In the athletics events the player runs by tapping the screen with two fingers alternately while spurting and jumping is done by tilting the device. Swimming works similarly to running but there the player has to do swiping motions rather than tapping. In the canoe slalom event paddling is done by tilting the device left and right. In archery and shooting tilting is used to aim. To fire in shooting the player simply taps the screen while in archery he has to hold down and release a button.
There's both a free version and a paid premium version. The difference between them is that the premium version offers an extra 3,000 stars and 5 max. stamina points as well as double stat rewards.
