DescriptionTadpole Tap is an action game in the tradition of titles like Doodle Jump. The player needs to take a tadpole as high as possible in an endless, vertical environment. The player taps flowers and branches to make the tadpole move up by extending its tongue to grab the platforms. Along the way it is possible to eat flies (as well as beetles), the main currency in the game. Obstacles include dense branches and glowing orbs emitting electricity. There are also platforms that are not permanent and disappear quickly. There are sections, announced through exclamation marks, where the water raises quickly and the tadpole needs to move at a high speed to avoid being eaten by the creatures in the water. The game is meant to be played multiple times in succession to get a high score and using the flies to unlock abilities that allow the tadpole to travel farther.
Different types of tadpoles can be unlocked and they can each be upgraded multiple times to make them better, for instance by extending the tongue reach. Flies are also used to buy one-time use power-ups such as invincibility, double flies, a fly magnet, vegetation spread that transforms obstacles ahead and beetle spread. These power-ups can also be found during gameplay. To unlock new skins multiple DNA samples in different colours need to be collected. Levels also contain puzzle pieces.
The game is free-to-play with in-game advertisements and in-app purchases for fly packs and DNA cases. Loyal players are rewarded with daily chests. When dead you can either start over or spend flies or watch a video advertisement to get a continue.
