DescriptionGun Strike 2 is a third-person shooter and the sequel to Gun Strike. A lot of the gameplay mechanics are identical, but visually the most important change is the move from a first-person perspective to a third-person one, even though it does not affect the gameplay much. The player takes the role of a mercenary who has to complete different missions, usually killing a number of enemies, to progress to the next level. The game offers 23 characters and 35 types of weapons, purchased through in-game money earned during the missions. The game is free-to-play, with in-app purchases for removing advertisements, additional money, unlocking all characters, missions and weapons, unlimited ammo, and blue diamonds as the premium currency. All weapons can be practiced for free at a target shooting range.
The gameplay is similar to Operation Wolf in the sense that there is no player movement and enemies appear from different entrances in the screen. They need to be taken out before they can fire at the character or a certain amount of health is lost. Unlike Operation Wolf most levels are single screen locations, only a few have automatic side-scrolling movement as a survival-like game type. As the character cannot be moved, the player guides the reticule across the screen using an area in the bottom left corner of the screen. Firing is done by tapping a circle in the bottom right side of the screen. Additional options include throwing or launching a grenade, activating a skill, and reloading. It is also possible to switch between a primary and secondary weapon. The game takes into account armour and the effectiveness of headshots when targeting enemies.
After each level the player is rated and receives a cash bonus. Cash is used to replenish ammo and acquire new characters, weapons and equipment. Each character has different characteristics. Similarly weapons have statistics based on damage, accuracy, fire rate, clip size, reload speed and stability. Weapons include assault rifles, machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, hand guns, submachine guns, shotguns and grenades.
