App Spy (2010)
From the PC to the iPad and now the iPhone, Osmos brings its unique pure physics gameplay with all the charm to gamers no matter where they are.

Osmos is an elegant physics game perfectly suited for the iPhone’s touchscreen.

Osmos was something special on the iPad and it doesn’t lose an ounce of magic on the iPhone. I was worried that the smaller screen might cramp Osmos, but that wasn’t the case at all. It’s still an amazing play. It’s hard to pinpoint a favorite feature. The clever gameplay? The atmosphere? The variety of stages? The art direction? It all comes together to make one of the best iPhone games of 2010.

Pacing issues and overly random gameplay detract from the elegance of Osmos.

That said, Osmos is still a fantastic little title, one of a rare breed of games that can be described as meditative. A very reasonable £1.79 will get you 72 levels split across two game modes - odyssey and arcade - which is more than several hours worth of 'zoned out' gameplay. It's certainly unique enough to warrant attention, and if you've been neglecting your iPhone as a gaming platform of late, I'd strongly suggest checking it out.
