Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack! is a celebration of the unbridled fun and silliness that makes the series so enjoyable to play while adding some neat touches to the endless platforming formula.
Pocket Gamer UK
Fittingly shallow and suitably silly, this auto-runner is one of the better examples of the genre, if still limited in its appeal
It’s hard to knock anything about a game with as much spirit as Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack. It was obviously made by someone who is a big fan of the series, and it plays very well with those of us who are “in the know”. Playing the villain in a game is always fun, but getting to play a headless one with bombs for hands who wants to blow up the hero just makes me giddy.
You'll get the occasional ribbing and off-the-wall humor of the Serious Sam series in the form of sound effects and the incidental visual cue, and as a weird standalone package, Kamikaze Attack works well. Running around without a head and with bombs for hands is far more fun than you'd think, and even if the game doesn't ramp up the challenge as much as most of its ilk, the total quirk and oddness of it all should make for an enjoyable experience for most.
Slide to Play
For a buck, it's a cheap way to whet your appetite for the upcoming console/PC return of Sam, but has little appeal beyond that.
