Although it does take a step backwards in some aspects, we still enjoyed our time with Zen Bound 2. It may not be as soothing, but most of the production values have been ramped up. If you don’t mind playing through a lot of rehashed content, you may want to check out this sequel.

Once again, the lines between art and gaming have been blurred in Zen Bound 2; there are some moments of déjà vu, but fans and newcomers alike should treat themselves to this latest prose in game form.

Zen Bound 2 is indeed just more of the same, but because Zen Bound remains one of my favorite iPhone games, I’m happy there were no crazy alterations just because sequels allegedly always demand radical change. The relaxed atmosphere, wealth of ornaments, and near-perfect controls make Zen Bound 2 easy to recommend. What a great game.

With 100 levels to get yourself in a knot over, Zen Bound 2 does exactly what it sets out to do: calm and soothe. Frustrations over the ongoing obsession with the royals and the X-Factor will just melt away in a pleasant haze.
